The main engines were installed in 1983. A new deck crane was fitted 7-8 eight years approx, as well as a new aux engine (the John Deere).
The ballast tanks have never been used for ballast; the fwd ones are as new, and classed as ”void spaces” to avoid annual surveys by class. The aft ballast tank is used as cooling tank for the aux engines (freshwater with glykol).
The tug is purpose built to fit 4 matching barges, two of which are our reference DO0181. The tug is fitted with heavy duty arti-couple system to connect as pusher in the barges notches.
They have several spare parts; one complete aux engine (the one that John Deere replaced) a new John Deere block, an almost full 20’ container with various parts for main engines, etc. as well as a brand new articouple.

Propeller: 2x Volda / Liaaen ACG 56/450.
Generators: 1 x Volvo Penta 80 kW, 1x John Deere.
BP: about 20 tons.
Bunkering capacity: 66 m3.
Coupling system: Articouple KD-80-DM.
Other: Hiab crane deck, capstan, accommodation for five people.

PUSHBOAT that connects to the notch of the barge’s stern and is locked with two hydraulic cylinders that fit in the toothed tracks in the barge. The system is intended for RO-RO handling of primarily bulk cargo loads as pulpwood, logs and chips, and to go forth between different destinations. Shifting from one barge to another takes a few minutes. Owners also carry heavy cargo and large machines with this barge systems. Loading and unloading of barges is usually made with a front. The rig is very easy thanks to the Push boat being powered by 2 x 1200 HP Diesel Bergen via two propellers and with double Becker rudder, which gives particularly good handling characteristics. The boat is also reported to be very useful for icebreaking and harbour towage.
